How to donate to St Mary’s
All are welcome at St Mary’s, and money doesn’t come into it. Nevertheless, it is in giving that we receive, and all that we have and all that we are comes from the goodness and love of God. St Mary’s is dependent for its survival on the generosity of its parishioners. Whilst we do have buildings that we can (and do) rent out, most of our income is from charitable donations. The financial backbone of our church is regular planned giving, and our donations have been falling for several years. At the same time, our expenses have been going up. We invite all who regularly worship with us to consider how they can support our mission and ministry by giving financially.
How to give
Online: If you would like to make a regular or one-off donation to St Mary’s, please click on the ‘CLICK HERE TO DONATE’ button above. It will take you to our page on the PGS website. The PGS is a free Direct Debit scheme, enabling you to give safely and securely. We receive 100% of your donation, plus Gift Aid will be automatically claimed for us. That really helps us reduce our administration costs and means less work for our volunteer Planned Giving Officer and Treasurer. Your identity and the amount of your gift will only be known to the Planned Giving Officer and their assistants, or you can choose to remain completely anonymous if you prefer.

When you sign up, please do opt in to Gift Aid if you are a UK tax payer. Please also choose to inflation-link your giving if you feel able to, it makes a huge difference to our finances.
In church:
Cash: we would please ask that you use the envelopes in church so that we can claim Gift Aid on any donation that you make, this give St Mary’s an extra 25%, yes it really is that much!
Contactless Card Terminal: there is a giving terminal in the West Porch where you can use your card or ApplePay in your phone.
