A Bank Holiday Cheer You Up

Published on Monday 13 April 2020

I thought all of you might enjoy this little picture today.

As one of those still working I have noticed that I am much more aware of the constraints of lockdown on my day off. As it is bank holiday today and few of us will be working, I thought I would send you something to cheer you up.

In a year's time

This short video helped me to find a sense of perspective facing the frustrations and limitations of our current circumstances. I think it is a lovely little poem about hope. What are you hoping for after all this is over? I'd love to hear from you. I am hoping that we will be a bit more generous to one another and appreciative of those who do the essential but unglamorous jobs that keep everything going. I am also really looking forward to getting back out on my horse again.

The ACM and APCM

You may be wondering about the Annual Church meetings that should be happening before the end of this month. They are going to be postponed for the time being. Bishop Christopher has arranged for the deadline for them to be extended to the 31st October rather than the 30th April. This means that all elected officers and Church Committee and PCC members will stay in post until we can hold the ACM and APCM.

Once I get back from my leave this week I will be discussing with the standing committees when and how we might be able to meet to keep an eye on things during the lock down. I will let you know when I have more news.

In the meantime, I hope that you find a way of having some fun this bank holiday.

With best wishes
