When you are alone.

Published on Friday 3 April 2020

Today's email is virtually guaranteed to lift you up in your isolation. I defy you not to feel joy before the end!

Not because of anything that I am about to write, but because of the message and inspiration you will receive from the video link below. It has been specifically produced for YOU. It stars not strangers, but our own St Mary's Choristers (past and present) singing from their own homes.

I think we all know of the power of love to lift and inspire us. I suspect we may be learning more about that during this strange and worrying time, but it only takes the simple eloquence and enthusiasm of the young to remind us, that, in the midst of life's ups and down, love will lift us up!

Listen to this video now.

Wow! Thank you children for that wonderful contribution! It has certainly lifted me and I suspect I am not alone. Thank you also to Anna Lush (our relatively newly appointed Choristers' director), for galvanising and masterminding such creativity. I suspect there will be more offerings before we all emerge again from our homes.

Anna sends this message -

"The choristers and I have been working hard to create an uplifting virtual performance! I am very proud of the end result, and I hope it brings people cheer as intended".

Please do email Anna (anna.lush@yahoo.co.uk) if you want to send a message to her and the choristers. Perhaps your children would be interested, in joining the St Mary's Choristers?

I leave you with a smile on my face –

With our love and prayer

A prayer of St Columba

Kindle in our hearts, O God,
the flame of that love which never ceases,
that it may burn in us, giving light to others.
May we shine forever in your temple,
set on fire with your eternal light,
even your Son Jesus Christ,
our Saviour and our Redeemer.
